Chilled Pineapple Avocado Soup | Boise Food Photographer

Jenny’s Lunch Line features a pineapple avocado soup on Fridays. The only thing I knew going into this soup is that I DIDN’T know what to expect. But it was delicious and the pumpkin seeds on top were a fun extra flavor and texture. Turns out I’m a fan of chilled soups afterall!

Check out some other chilled soup options around town via Boise Weekly’s article here.

Thanks to Nicole for being my fantastic lunch date and fabulous hand/spoon model!

Epitome Home & Garden (for Boise Weekly’s Annual Manual) | Boise Photographer

Epitome is one of those stores you can circle 5 times and still find new little treasures each time you circle around. Its a great option for gifts and fun home or patio accents.

I just love the grouping of rusted old springs. I might have to go back and get those before they’re gone…

Richard + Amy | Boise Engagement Photographer

Meet Richard and Amy.

These two are charming and timeless — both in their love for each other and in the way they looked through my lens.

Our entire session took place within a half mile radius of their Northend home.  After our session we sat in their dining room and got to know each other better over glasses of wine in crystal goblets.

I can only hope that when planning my own wedding someday I will be as appreciative and hospitable as they have been. I cannot wait to photograph their September wedding in McCall!

Food. Mickey Ray’s BBQ | Boise Food Photographer

Mickey Ray’s BBQ in Eagle was hopping when I stopped in. It smelled delicious and the staff actually seemed excited to be there and happy to help. Not only that, but I saw one of the owners chatting with many customers on a first name basis and just being a stand-up guy in general. I definitely want to get back there for some bbq and fried okra!

Check out Boise Weekly’s Annual Manual for the full Treasure Valley restaurant run-down.

13th Street Pub & Grill

The 13th Street Pub & Grill has opened doors on a prime corner in Hyde Park (where Bungalow used to be).

Nick and I have been there a few times for dinner. Delicious baked Mac & Cheese ($4.95, I believe). Awesome chef salad. Great fish & chips. Plenty of microbeers on tap. Great patio. What more could you ask for?

Rumor even has it that they will be enclosing and heating their patio for the winter.  Ahhh…and only a mere 4 blocks from my house. Lucky me!
