Treefort Music Fest….Owyhee Afterparty | Boise Photographer

Alright people. If you haven’t heard of Treefort by now then I hate to be the one to tell you this….but you’re living under a rock. It’s the best new thing to hit Boise! (Although I AM looking forward to Nordstorm Rack and Whole Foods….)

The good news is that it isn’t too late for you to partake in the joys of live music. Here is the schedule for Saturday (TODAY!) and Sunday. So get on down to the Main Stage (12th and Grove) for the first show today at 2:30. The sun is out, the music will be fantastic and the people watching won’t disappoint!

Here’s from last night’s Afterparty set at the Owyhee Hotel.

Starting with Owlright….

Next up is QP from Seattle…

Then we’ve got Sepalcure…

Last but not least, Pictureplane…

Shop. The Record Exchange | Boise Photographer

All of you Boiseans should know that the Record Exchange is the go-to music shop. If you don’t then get with it and go check them out. If you’re new to the area check ’em out for a good latte, random/fun gifts and great music selection. They may not have quite the selection as itunes, but it is definitely more fun to browse around in. And keep an eye out for in-store concerts…

Check out Boise Weekly’s Annual Manual for more rockin’ local businesses.

Actual Depiction | Boise Band Photographer

I met up with Actual Depiction at the Boise Bomb Shelter (near Simplot Hill). I had no clue that this building existed, nor did I realize that it is a hub for local musicians’ practice spaces. Sometime I’ll have to go venture around inside this building and see if any neat artifacts or details remain in these concrete hide-out. That whole time of US history is fascinating to me..

As for Actual Depiction, they are a reggae band (blended with rock & hip-hop) that’s worth following out on the Boise town. Recently, they won Battle of the Bands!
