Hartman Family | Boise Family Photographer

This fall was very busy; I just realized how few times I shared on my blog. Oops.

I thought I’d start by sharing the Hartman Family session! The Hartman’s were very easy-going, always laughing and fantastic to photograph. We walked around the Idaho Botanical Gardens and Julia Davis Park  seeking out what color was left in November.

These boys are so cute. No words will express their amount of personality and cuteness. Luckily, I have the proof. In photos!

So here’s fondly remembering when the ground was covered with leaves (rather than snow and ice)…

Dessert with the Hagans Family | Boise Family Photographer

Kids don’t hide their total excitement about food. (Maybe because they’re not mentally counting calories with every bite?)

Silverware is optional. It is sticky, it is messy. Noses…hair…ears..nothing is safe.

I love photographing kids sitting down to a meal or snack. Maybe it’s because I’m used to adults shun me–fork in hand and piercing distrust in their eyes– if I come anywhere near them with my camera? Whatever it is, I just love photographing kids eating.

I suppose you could say that I eat it up….

This was just a portion of my family shoot with the Hagans. Two hours can be a long time to keep kids entertained. What better way to break up the session than with a spontaneous pumpkin roll dessert snack and cider in big-kid mugs?

Cambree Turns 6! | Boise Children Photographer

If you’ve been following my blog for awhile, you may remember Cambree.  I’ve done birthday portraits for her for a few years. Here she’s  four. And here she’s the big 0-5.

This year she’s SIX and she has a new baby brother (we snuck in a few shots of Andrew in his stroller).

Cambree has always come to her birthday photo sessions equipped with plenty of poses, expressions and nutty ideas. This year we got a little more theatrical as we wandered around the greenbelt and the Boise State campus. I suggest keeping your eye out for the impromptu mourning session at what looked like a gravestone and for the run-in with the bronco statute.

Hard to believe the years have gone by so quickly…

The Anderson Fam at the Laundromat! | Boise Family Photographer

This family is incredibly fun to photograph! Get ready to meet AJ, Andrea, K’Bree and Taylor.

One thing I love to do is split sessions up. Spend about an hour in the morning at one location. Then break. Then reconvene with different hairstyles, different outfits, and a rad attitude (the break makes everyone a little less burned out!) in the evening for the second half of the session.

With the Andersons, we spent the morning part of our session at the 12th Street Laundromat (near Hyde Park). Here’s a quick sneak peek of some of the fun we had.

In another blog post I will share part two of our session, where we invaded The Shabby House later that evening…
