It is an extremely touching thing to watch refugees take the oath of citizenship and become Americans. In Boise, this opportunity is offered once a year (on World Refugee Day) at an informal gathering amidst the Capital City Market on a Saturday on the grove.
Wow. These new Americans know more about the value of freedom than I will ever know.
I hope that Boise is a fresh start of opportunity and happiness for all of them…from the 18 year olds to the 84 year old. And, I hope they continue to bring their culture, cuisines and immense amount of resilience to our eclectic town.
