Joanne Hulstrand, rosemaler

Joanne Hulstrand’s home is full of evidence of her amazing talent as a painter — more specifically a rosemaler. Rosemaling is a Norwegian folk art that typically involves designs that flow together intricately and often involve floral themes.

Joanne’s work is beautiful, whether on eyeglass cases, armoires or Kubbestol chairs. (Kubbestol chairs, like the one in the last photo, are carved from sections of tree trunks – very unique and surprisingly comfy!). You can view here website here.
