Hello and Goodbye

If you drop by occasionally, you may have noticed that NOTHING NEW is happening here.

About a year ago, a strong urge struck me. I knew it was time to go back to school and wrap up ALL those undergrad credits into a presentable bachelor’s bow. Thanks to the support of my husband, I was able to dive in headfirst. Full. Time.

It has been difficult to sacrifice photography for school….jobs for homework…creativity for science labs. However, this has been a fabulous new direction for me to head in!

“All religions, arts and sciences are branches of the same tree. All these aspirations are directed toward ennobling man’s life, lifting it from the sphere of mere physical existence and leading the individual towards freedom.” – Albert Einstein

I can’t imagine a life without photography. Nor can I imagine a life fueled only by the income from photography.

In the long run, I envision having the freedom to be creative AND to collaborate with clients for creative pursuits. I don’t believe that the way to do this is to have a camera in my hand around the clock. A year ago, that’s what the future looked like. Now, I see a future of creativity and career(s) in harmony.

My next blog will be totally different from this. When it happens, I’ll share the link.

Until then, cheers! And my overflowing appreciation for reading this.

Thank you!

Neckar Coffee (#PourOverPorn)

Instagram is full of #foodporn.

Today I  present a new fetish to you: Pour Over Porn.

Yep. SO much raw, beautiful, pour over coffee you’ll undoubtedly be craving a cup.

These images were shot of the radical dudes of Neckar Coffee (local Boise coffee roasters) at the Saturday Market for an article that ran in the Boise Weekly.

Alessi Family | Boise Photographer

The Alessi’s had me come out to photograph their family at their home in the foothills. The boys were all torn away from the football game that was on that afternoon (this was back in the fall) and so we hastily did our shortened shoot so everyone could get back to their Sunday.   All things considered, I’d say it turned out quite fun for a chilly, quick shoot!

Cambree turns 7! | Boise Photographer

Another year has passed and Cambree is now seven years old. It seems like just yesterday she was 6…or 5…or 4… WOW, time flies!

Cambree has always had crazy poses and outrageous expressions. She’s full anything everything BUT “natural” smiles. If she smiles, its overly sappy and sweet and is usually followed by a gag or baring of teeth. Every year she is more and more animated. She’s just about as tall as me at age 7. Who knows, maybe she’s top model material?
